‍Voltpost and EVSE Unite to Scale Lamppost EV Charging Across the U.S.

Voltpost, the leading lamppost charging company, has announced a strategic partnership with EVSE LLC, an Enfield, Connecticut-based pioneer in electric vehicle charging hardware manufacturing, alongside the addition of Ubitricity veteran James Everley to lead business development for Voltpost. Together, these innovators are bringing the next generation of lamppost EV charging to communities across the United States.

At the center of this collaboration is the Voltpost Air, Voltpost’s next-generation lamppost EV charger manufactured by EVSE LLC for Voltpost, connected by AT&T, and installable in a few hours on existing infrastructure. The Voltpost Air is Build America Buy America (BABA) compliant—one of few BABA-compliant L2 chargers available. The partnership combines EVSE’s proven American-made hardware, precision engineering, and manufacturing with Voltpost’s intelligent lamppost charging platform and collaborations with public, private, and utility customers to deliver scalable curbside and parking lot pole-mounted charging. What began with inventors from different backgrounds independently developing lamppost charging hardware and software now converges into a next-gen platform that is transforming the everyday lamppost into a cornerstone of clean mobility overnight with rapid deployments.

“Our mission at Voltpost is to decarbonize our planet by making EV charging accessible to communities across America as fast as possible,” said Jeff Prosserman, CEO and Co-Founder of Voltpost. “This collaboration brings together EVSE’s manufacturing expertise, Voltpost’s intelligent infrastructure platform, and our team’s deployment leadership to create a scalable network of curbside and parking lot chargers. Together, we’re leveraging lampposts to enable sustainable transportation and win the race to net-zero.”

Built on a Family Legacy of Engineering and Innovation

EVSE LLC is a family business with deep roots in American engineering and entrepreneurship. Control Module Inc., the EVSE parent company, founded by engineer and entrepreneur James Bianco in 1969, has long delivered electrical and mechanical innovation across multiple industries. Today, the company is led by Bianco’s daughter and President, Shannon Ouellette, who carries forward the family legacy of manufacturing EVSE charging hardware right here in the United States.

James Bianco envisioned a future for EV charging long before the modern market existed. His early work involved CAB AIR, a system for hooking devices into vehicles, which inspired ideas for a unique, reliable EV charger. Bianco developed the patented AutoCoil™ retractable cable management system that maximizes charger reliability in the built environment by reducing storm damage and protecting against vandalism. The EVSE charging technology has been tested and proven in pilots across the US.

“Partnering with Voltpost to scale charging across communities nationwide while seeing my father’s vision come to life is incredibly rewarding,” said Shannon Ouellette, President of EVSE LLC. “This isn’t just a family business—this is a lifelong passion built on engineering brilliance, entrepreneurial grit, and a commitment to increase EV adoption. I’m proud to carry my father’s legacy forward and partner with Voltpost to manufacture reliable, safe, and scalable charging hardware.”

EVSE’s engineering and persistence have powered years of successful pilot programs with municipalities and utilities nationwide, including with the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting. The company’s chargers are known for their durability and performance in harsh conditions, with numerous instances of chargers surviving extreme weather even when the surrounding infrastructure was destroyed.

“The EVSE team has decades of manufacturing expertise, and pairing that with Voltpost’s platform as the leading lamppost charging operator alongside public and private partnerships, enables us to support deploying curbside and parking lot charging at scale,” said Dean Spacht, Executive Director of EVSE Sales-Utility/Light Pole Chargers. “These projects require technical excellence and a turnkey digital experience. Together, we are delivering a comprehensive solution for utilities, municipalities, private site hosts, and EV drivers.”

Expanding Access to Communities Nationwide

James Everley, who led lamppost charging deployments for Ubitricity—the largest charging network in the UK—has joined Voltpost to lead business development, bringing his expertise in deploying reliable and scalable lamppost chargers to the U.S. market. At Ubitricity, Everley oversaw the deployment of 2,000 lamppost chargers across the UK. This pivotal leadership position advanced business development from initial proof-of-concept installations to gaining regulatory approval, early trials, and ultimately, large-scale deployments with Siemens. Then, at Joju Solar, in a partnership with CityEV and FM Conway (the SureCharge network), he won contracts for 1,000 lamppost chargers across London. Everley brings his expertise deploying lamppost chargers in the UK to Voltpost, guiding the design and scaling of curbside and parking lot charging across American communities.

“By uniting the strengths of EVSE and Voltpost, we can ensure that cities, companies, and utilities deploy chargers efficiently and reliably,” said Everley, Director of Business Development at Voltpost. “We are excited about how this strategic partnership accelerates our deployment plans to make charging accessible nationwide.”

“When we first brought lamppost charging to the UK, the goal was to make EV charging as simple and ubiquitous as street lighting itself,” said Knut Hechtfischer, Co-Founder of Ubitricity. “Through years of deployment, we learned that successful curbside charging depends on reliable hardware, intelligent software, and strong collaboration with cities. It’s exciting to see those lessons now being applied in the U.S., helping to make everyday urban charging both accessible and scalable.”
